Betelnut was a popular Asian-fusion restaurant in San Francisco’s Cow Hollow neighborhood, inspired by the street food and beer halls of Southeast Asia. Opened in 1995, it became known for its lively atmosphere, small plates, and signature dishes like Szechuan green beans, chicken satay, and lettuce cups with minced chicken. Betelnut briefly closed in 2013 and was renamed to Hutong. It later changed back to Betelnut before closing in 2015.
