The Beach Chalet restaurant opened in 1997 inside the historic 1925 Spanish Revival building at the western edge of Golden Gate Park. Known for its ocean views and restored WPA-era murals, it became a popular spot for both locals and tourists. Over the years, it expanded to include the more casual Park Chalet garden restaurant behind it.
